birds of prey of the Dakotas. Scheduled for 8:00 - 11:00am. This is your chance to get up close and personal with birds of prey. The Black Hills Raptor Center is home to 7 raptors from 6 different species that are native to South Dakota. They care for a variety of hawks, owls, and an American Kestrel. All of their birds are full-time residents that are unable to be returned to the wild due to injury or imprinting on humans. The raptors we will be photographing will be in a natural setting with props to appear like they would in the wild. We also will have the opportunity to photograph feeding time as well as capturing the birds in flight. Be sure to bring a variety of lenses such as a telephoto lens and zoom lens that are capable of shooting everything from close-up details, portraits, and the birds flying. with kendra Koski.
