"Highland Ridge Road" led by Tomas Alvarez.
"Highland Ridge Road."  | 6:15 - 9:15am | Join me on an adventure from Wind Cave National Park to Custer State Park.  We'll spend our time traversing Highland Ridge Road to view the majesty of the plains-side of the Black Hills - spotting bison, burros, and overlooking the majesty of the golden plains.  This session will follow a not-so-well-known gravel road back into the grasslands with lots of stops along the way.  Join me for a time that took my own breath away when I first saw it.
"Cold Brook Lake and Cascade Falls Photo Walk" | 6:15 - 9:15am | Join me as we photograph beautiful Cold Brook Lake located in the heart of Hot Springs. We will be photographing the lake from multiple locations so bring your wide-angle lens and your telephoto. The Lake is home to deer, wild turkey, bald eagles and numerous other birds and wildlife so you might want to bring your long lens along. Following our trek around the lake we will head south of Hot Springs to Cascade Falls. Cascade Falls is a spring fed swimming hole that stays a brisk 67 degrees year-round.  The trail to the falls isn’t steep but there are a few steps to get there. Be sure to bring your ND filters for blurring the falling water.  Don’t forget your tripod, it will be invaluable for capturing long-exposure photos of the waterfalls.

"History On The Ranch" led by
Jay Grammond.
"History On The Ranch" | 8:00 - 11:00am | Description: Does creating images of Native American Petroglyphs and Pictographs; Cavalry Campsites; Native Campsites; and Natural Wonders interest you? We have a unique opportunity to tour a private ranch property to experience these types of subjects. "General George Custer Was Here" could be a sign posted on this property, will you be there?!
Above is not on the property, is located near Pringle.
Equine Photography Experience | 8:00 - 11:00AM | Extra Fee required | Description: During the overnight hours, the wild horses of the sanctuary have grouped together in tighter
bands and herds as protection from predators that may be on the prairies and grasslands. The tight clusters also provide warmth and shelter from the elements of the South Dakota
grasslands. We will have a unique opportunity as the sun warms the air to be among the herds and experience the spirit of the horse as they start to move about, run through the
grasses and live free.

George has been photographing these herds for more than 10 years and knows their favorite “hang outs”. Participants will learn about ideal shooting positions, the language of the ears and more as the finer details of equine photography are explored.
Join us on this adventure, and we promise to make it a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience for you. The experience will inspire your photography and rejuvenate your soul. In the field you will be provided with information about wild horse herd dynamics as well as
safety around the horses. George will share his pro-tips for the elements of design, composing, exposing and capturing on camera compelling landscape images. For the more advanced photographer, we will discuss elements of design and advanced exposure techniques to improve your
photographs.
