Ranch Life in Natural Light. Led by Chris Dickinson. 6:00 - 9:00am. Start your morning where Western stories begin, in the quiet of dawn. Photograph cowboys and cowgirls saddling up, working their horses, and preparing for the day. Chris teaches how to work
with natural light, find authentic moments, shoot with intention, and layer images for depth and
emotion. This is ranch life the way it’s lived, not staged.  Location and gather time: TBA.
Sunrise At Bearlodge/Sundance Mountain Area.  Led by Tomas Alvarez. This sunrise landscape session focuses on creating layered compositions of forested hills and ridgelines just a short distance from Sundance. We'll arrive before dawn and you will learn to use silhouettes, shapes and natural contoursbto build pre-sunrise images. As first light develops, we'll shift to working with side - and back-light, teaching techniques like bracketing, panoramas, and using longer lenses to compress depth and emphasize layers. We'll conclude with a brief in-field critique and practical guidance on applying these sunrise techniques in other locations.   Estimated session time: TBA. Gather: TBD
Twilight to Golden Hour: Landscape Photography at Devil's Tower.  Led by Erik Kuna. Great landscape photography is rarely about being in a beautiful place at a random time. It is about being in the right place when the light comes alive.
In this field session, Erik Kuna will lead you through a sunrise landscape experience at Devils Tower, beginning in twilight and working through first light, sunrise, and golden hour. This is when the landscape changes minute by minute, when color, contrast, shadow, atmosphere, and mood come together to create the kind of images photographers hope for. You will learn how to see and use light as the foundation of your composition, timing, exposure, and creative choices. After all, photography literally means "painting with light," and in landscape photography, light is the language that turns a scene into a photograph.
We will work during the best part of the morning, then wrap up after the golden hour because once the great light is gone, the lesson is clear: the best landscape photographers don't just chase locations, they chase light too.
 Session time: 5:45am - 7:15am. Location: TBA.
