Presentation: "How do I find my vision when I can’t find my glasses? - The World I Love to See."
What inspires you to make an image? When I began my journey as a professional photographer, I was told to shoot what I love, but it could be a “journey” to actually find what I loved. I often took a step back and thought about capturing great and unique photographs – I still do today. My vision has changed, expanded, grown and developed over
the years.

Many photographers have asked George over the years. “I have a professional type of camera, the best lens I could afford, I have all of these accessories and my images do not look like yours – what’s the secret?” Fact of the matter, there is no “secret sauce” in
photography – It is about vision – we choose what the viewer sees and we dictate subliminally what the viewer feels. It is our job to put the viewer in our shoes, even if only for a brief moment. Viewing a photograph should be an experience allowing the viewer into the
world the photographer has visited, if only for a brief moment in time.

In this lecture, George explores visual communication and the development of photographic vision. So join us for
a light-hearted look into “The Stuff They Never Tell You” and how he developed his own style of work – if you are not careful, you just might learn something.

Background on George's Sessions: George began his relationship with the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in 2012 creating calendars as promotional items. Over time, he began to take visitors into the herd for close up photography experiences, while at the same time working with both small and large groups for larger tours. Long days were often spent with a number of the remote herds in the hills North of the Cheyenne Canyon. The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary is a South Dakota 501 c 3 and all of George's time and photographs have been donated. On numerous occasions, custom art has been created from his images and used as a fund-raising tool to support this unique and beautiful location.
